PGNiG Upstream Norway was established in 2007 and through the series of successful investments and acquisitions has grown to become a recognized player on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The company is ranked as the tenth largest hydrocarbon producer of the independent oil companies on the NCS in 2021, and currently owns shares in twelve producing fields and shares in six other projects with development plans on the NCS.
Being engaged in drilling activities, PGNiG requires access to drilling software for exploration wells. Subsequent to evaluating available technology, PGNiG deemed that Oliasoft WellDesign (OWD) meets their well design needs and requirements; and has entered into a license agreement with Oliasoft.
OWD is a complete cloud-based engineering tool for well design and provides a single data source for common information across drilling applications. It allows engineers to access the same data from one web application and has a modern technology stack with Open API’s that enable a digital work process and value chain.
“PGNiG’s choice further establishes OWD as a powerful solution to digitalize the well design process. We are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with our friends at PGNiG Upstream Norway.” says Oliasoft CEO, Andre’ Backen.
