Oliasoft WellDesign (OWD) - always based on the latest technological developments
OWD is the only solution in the market to cover all calculations and simulations required for well design and planning in one single software application. State-of-the-art simulation engines developed in cooperation with leading Norwegian research institutes enable the future of well planning and design, digitalizing the oil and gas industry by sharing data across platforms. OWD utilizes networks and cloud computers for data storage and collaboration. This means that it can be run on any computer, phone, or tablet and that updates and new functionality are continuously implemented and can be launched throughout the application at any given time. It offers a set of application programming interfaces (API), enabling 100 % automation. OWD offers an interactive rich 2D and 3D human graphical user interface utilizing the latest web technologies, making the application very intuitive and fast. The uniqueness of OWD starts with its technology stack, click for more.
API stands for Application Programming Interface. In the context of APIs, the word Application refers to any software with a distinct function. Interface can be viewed as a contract of service between two applications. This contract defines how the applications communicate with each other using requests and responses. Oliasoft WellDesigns REST API ensures that the software and all of its calculators, simulators and automation features can be accessed by any other application or data platform. This means read and write capabilities both ways in machine to machine communication. API overview
Preparing for the digital future, several companies have decided to modernize their software solutions and implement OWD as their well archive for historic and future wells. To fully utilize the capacity of OWD and to use OWD for well design processes and related workflows, it is beneficial to migrate well data from the existing well database to OWD. Survey data and geographical map coordinates are straight forward to migrate to a modern architecture like OWD. Oliasoft has developed a migration tool and procedure that expedites data migrations into OWD, with minimal manual adjustments. Read more in this use case.
Oliasoft WellDesign’s simulation engines are compliant with industry standards, and suitable for any type of well: Exploration, production or injection and any type of fluid whether hydrocarbon, water, salt, coal, geothermal, and CO2 injection (CCUS) wells.
The Oliasoft WellDesign Blowout & Kill Simulation is the only commercial software that performs stochastic blowout and dynamic kill calculations according to the latest industry guidelines. The integrated workflow automatically updates changes and results through the entire dataset and makes it easy to see how changes in the design affect blowout and kill results. Create probabilistic blowout simulations by expressing all reservoir zone parameters by probability distributions and identifying subsurface data uncertainties. Read more.
Instead of leaning on “worst case” scenarios from the planning phase, decisions can be made during operations. Oliasoft supports a range of real-time use cases.
